PROPRIÉTÉS ET UTILISATIONS

ASTM A182 Grade F22 class 3 is a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel. This combination of alloying elements is key to its performance. Chromium enhances the steel's resistance to high-temperature corrosion and oxidation, while molybdenum significantly improves its high-temperature strength and, critically, its creep resistance.  

Creep is the tendency of a material to deform slowly and permanently under constant stress at elevated temperatures. It's a critical consideration in high-temperature applications, as components must maintain their shape and structural integrity over long periods. F22 is specifically designed to resist this phenomenon.  


ASTM A182 F22 class 3

 

ASTM A182 Grade F22 Class 3 is widely used in industries where extreme conditions are the norm:  

Power Generation: Critical components in fossil fuel and nuclear power plants, including:
Rotors for turbines / High-pressure, high-temperature piping / Boiler components / Superheater tubes
Petrochemical Industry: Pressure vessels / High-temperature reactors / Piping systems handling hot hydrocarbons / Heat exchangers
Refining: Used in equipment that processes crude oil at high temperatures and pressures.
