HOT WORK CREEP STEELS ARE STEELS THAT HAVE TO RESIST PLASTIC DEFORMATION OVER TIME AT HIGH TEMPERATURES (FROM 350° TO 700°C). THESE STEELS ARE EMPLOYED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF VALVES, FLANGES, TIE RODS, TUBES, PLATES ETC. FOR THE CHEMICAL INDUSTRY, PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRY, THERMAL AND NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS, OVERHEATED STEAM CONVEYORS, ROTORS AND PIPINGS THAT TRANSPORT HOT FLUIDS UNDER PRESSURE. THE SPECIFIC EMPLOYMENTS OF THESE STEELS REQUIRE AN ELEVATED WELDABILITY, FOR THIS REASON THEY ALL HAVE A LOW CARBON CONTENT (MAX. 0,20%).

F91 (X10CrMoVNb9-1), IS AN ALLOY STEEL WITH CHROME AND AN ADDITION OF NB, WHICH HAS ELEVATED MECHANICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND IT IS VERY OFTEN USED IN THE CHEMICAL AND PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRIES FOR THE FABRICATION OF FLANGES, VALVES, TUBES AND FOR EQUIPMENTS THAT REQUIRE AN EXCELLENT CREEP RESISTANCE AND TO EMBRITTLEMENT BECAUSE OF HYDROGEN UNDER PRESSURE AND AT AN ELEVATED TEMPERATURE (UP TO 600°C).

Normalized Tempered (+NT) / Annealed (+A)
ASTM A182 Alloy Steel grade F11 is a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel widely utilized across critical industries, including oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical processing, and power generation. Its primary applications lie in high-pressure and high-temperature environments, making it essential for components within oil and gas pipelines, steam boilers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and other critical equipment requiring robust performance. It can be case-hardened, it can be welded and it is resistant to creep 550°C. It is used for the fabrication of tubes, boilers and superheaters or for the transportation of overheated steam with a high pressure. it is easily machinable, even at the raw state of rolling or normalised.
A key advantage of ASTM A182 Alloy Steel grade F11 is its combination of high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. The specific alloying elements, notably chromium and molybdenum, contribute to its high resistance to oxidation and sulfidation at elevated temperatures, ensuring long-term reliability in demanding conditions.
